Trying to conceive*
I came to Linda at a time where I was feeling unhealthy, overweight and had been trying to conceive my second child for a year. I knew that I had a hormone imbalance but Linda also helped me to identify other issues with my health. By working on my health issues holistically I was able to see great results. I was always exhausted and generally feeling bad and stressed. I was one of those people that was eating ok (mostly healthy) and exercising moderately yet still wasn’t seeing results in my health at all. I went to Linda for help as I was struggling to find a way to improve my weight as well as fall pregnant. Over the following 14 weeks Linda helped me with my weight loss (lost 15kg) all up as well as help me understand which foods to eat, how much, how often and what they do to my body. Is the diet safe, are there any contraindications?
The diet is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you have any medical conditions it’s always best to check with your Medical Practitioner prior to commencing the diet.
How long does the diet go for?
You can do the diet for as long as it takes you to achieve your goal weight or until you have had enough.
Will I put all of my weight back on once I go back to normal eating?
No. If you follow the wellness or maintenance diet after you have lost your weight you will continue to maintain your weight.
Do I continue to take my prescribed medication and supplements?
Yes you can continue with any supplements you have been taking and do not stop any prescribed medication.
Can I exercise while on the program?
Yes it is recommended that you exercise at least four times per week for 40 minutes.
I’m getting hungry what do I do?
Make sure you are drinking enough water. Often people think they are hungry but they are actually dehydrated. Make sure you are eating the correct foods and the right amount. Ensure you’re are eating frequently enough and not going too long without eating. Make sure you are eating enough protein.
This program puts you into ketosis. Is this dangerous?
On the Shake – It program the body is placed into a state of dietary ketosis. This is totally safe and effective method of losing weight. When the body is in ketosis, you will not feel hungry. People often confuse ketosis with ‘ketoacidosis’ which is a life-threatening condition in diabetics.
Can I still go out for dinner?
Absolutely! There is always something to order from a restaurant that will not interfere with the Shake – It program. For example steak/ chicken/ fish combined with vegetables or salads but be wary of dressings and sauces.
I have a family; will it be difficult to do this program?
No! This program is very easy to manage if you cook for a family. You don’t have to cook separate meals and your family will benefit from a healthier eating plan.
